L.I.P. s.p.a., originally LaPreMe (meaning
Mechanical Precision), was founded in Milan just after world war II.
High precision small mechanical parts and microgears were initially produced.
In the sixties, the company started operating in the
field of thermoplastic injection moulding, specializing in growing industrial
sectors (for example gears for windscreen-wipers and telephone dialing
systems).
After continued expansion, at the beginning of the seventies
a new plant was built in Corsico, Milan, the current site. The name was
changed to L.I.P. s.p.a.
The company diversified to include gears production for use in a wide
range of sectors, specializing in metallic and plastic precision gears
and gear trains for professional applications.
In the nineties, L.I.P. began producing
low power gearboxes and motorgearboxes, which have become one of its strongpoints.
Presently, the production area covers 7000 sq.m., while the offices take
up 400 sq.m.
L.I.P. today employs 55 people.
